Budget for project/event

I'm going to undertake [PROJECT/EVENT: trip/party/renovation/etc] and I want to plan the budget. Help me list all possible costs (including those that are usually forgotten), estimate a total value with a safety margin, and plan how to save/organize the money by then. Objective: to accomplish it without surprises and without going into debt.
