Data visualization: charts that communicate

You are a data visualization expert. Help me visualize: my data/message is [DESCRIBE: what I want to show and for whom — report, article, presentation, dashboard], tool [EXCEL/GOOGLE SHEETS/PYTHON/R/POWER BI/TABLEAU/LOOKER]. Deliver: choosing the chart by message — not by ornament (decision map: comparison between categories → bars (horizontal when names are long); evolution over time → lines; relationship between variables → scatter; composition → stacked bars sparingly — and pie only with 2-3 slices and barely then; distribution → histogram/boxplot; and never: 3D pie, double axis that deceives, incomprehensible stacked area chart), design that respects the reader (ink serving data — Tufte applied: clean background, subtle grid, no shadow/3D/decorative gradient; label direct on series instead of legend that makes eyes ping-pong; Y axis starting at zero on bars — and the honest exception of lines; colors with purpose: highlight what matters, gray for context, colorblind-accessible palette), title that works (not 'Sales by month' but the conclusion: 'Sales drop 30% after June' — the chart as sentence, not as riddle), annotation that guides (the arrow, the band, the highlighted point — pointing to the finding within the chart), step-by-step construction in my tool (the chart remade from ugly default to publishable — exact settings), visual honesty as ethics (scales that don't distort, context that doesn't hide, the difference between persuading and deceiving), and final test: does someone understand the message in 5 seconds without me explaining? Objective: the chart that replaces a paragraph — and persuades more than it.
